2024-07	ARTICLE IN BRISBANE TIMES ON RESTORING QUEENSLAND'S UPPER HOUSE: A Queensland member alerted PRSA Inc. to the case made for Queensland to regain its Legislative Council, but with a proportional representation electoral system. PRSA Inc. would make the case for such a system to use the single transferable vote (PR-STV).
2024-06	PUBLIC MEETING IN BRISBANE ON 'FAIRER ELECTIONS IN QUEENSLAND': PRSA Inc. will hold a public meeting in Brisbane on Tuesday, 25 June 2024 at 7:00 pm, on the need for the elections for the members of Queensland's unicameral parliament, and of Brisbane City Council, to be held in multi-member electoral districts with votes to be counted by a proportional representation electoral system using the single transferable vote (PR-STV). All Queensland MLAs and Brisbane City councillors, and all PRSA Inc. members in Queensland have been invited to attend. Any interested members of the public that would like to attend can determine the venue by emailing info@prsa.org.au.
2024-03	TASMANIA'S PREMIER PLANS 'STABILITY CLAUSE': Tasmania's Premier, Hon. Jeremy Rockliff MHA, in campaigning for the House of Assembly election to be held on 23 March 2024, has said a Liberal Government will move to amend legislation to require Members of the Parliament that were a member of a political party when they were elected - but subsequently cease to be such a member - to thereupon forfeit their seat. PRSA Inc. opposes such a weakening of the Westminster parliamentary system. Such a change would markedly reduce the ability of  affected MPs to exercise their judgement as they saw fit, and would further transfer power from the directly-elected MPs to a small cabal of Ministers.
