FEDERAL ELECTORAL SYSTEM: Henk van Leeuwen's letter, appearing in The Age newspaper in Victoria on 02 February 2026, warns of the unrepresentative nature of single-member electoral systems. They - unlike the far better PR-STV systems used for the Tasmanian and ACT Assemblies - greatly reduce voters' choices, and leave almost half the votes cast electing nobody. |
